This weekend I went to the Societies convention to look at the trade show and see if there was any interesting new albums and products out. I also took part in the ‘Day at the Asylum’ workshop with Rick Friedman which was all about off camera flash. As promised, Rick did indeed make the day fun for all the participants.

The venue for the shoot was Caroline Gardens in Peckham – it is an old decaying chapel that was a home for retired taxi drivers (yes really). The area is still contains many retirement homes. However, to all the locals it known as the Asylum.

As well as an art centre, you can say your vows in front of a London Borough of Southwark registrar! (So if you are getting married there or even thinking of holding your wedding at the Asylum – call me NOW!)

Here are some of the photos from the day – I am still recovering from the smoke machine induced headache! Some are completely all lit by flash, some are natural light only or a mixture of both – a chocolate button if you can guess which is which!

Enjoy!
